Sherlin Tung -
Biography
Sherlin is a 3L and a Southern Californian native. She was born in Taiwan but immigrated over to Southern California with her family at a young age. Sherlin graduated from UCLA with a triple major in History, Political Science and Asian American Studies. While at UCLA, Sherlin was a member of the Distinguished Bruin Belles and worked full time as an officer at Bank of America. After graduating from UCLA, Sherlin taught English in the Foreign Languages Department at Lida Polytechnic Institute College in Shanghai, China. She was also an English Instructor for Shanghai Professionals at Talk English, LLC.
Sherlin is the current Day Vice President of the Student Bar Association at the University of San Diego School of Law. She competed in the National Thomas Tang Moot Court competition in Los Angeles in 2007 and in the National St. John’s Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court competition in New York in March 2008. Sherlin has played an active role in USD’s student affairs. She was the President of the Public Interest Legal Foundation, Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and the current Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee’s Battle of the Brain.
Outside of Law School, Sherlin enjoys figure skating, dancing, reading, poker and eating. She was a competitive figure skating prior to entering UCLA Sherlin also organized the annual LRAP Texas Hold’Em Tournament which raised over $30,000 for the Loan Repayment Assistance Program.
